Since then local people formed a committee and registered themselves as a company and charity with the sole aim of reopening the Pool. Commissioned surveys demonstrated a massive demand from the community as a whole and a number of partners are dedicated to the project. These include local schools, residents and health providers.

·

Fenham Pool reopened on 28th July 2005 as a Community Run Pool. The Pool achieved its 100,000 user in June 2007, also reaching an annual target of 60,000 users in 2007.

·

The pool won £80,000 from the Big Lottery through Tyne Tees ' The Peoples Millions' in 2007. This funding was used to dramatically improve the changing facilities at the swimming pool.

·

The Staff and Committee would like to say a BIG Thank You to all customers, supporters and Funders.

·

We provide access to our pool to all members of the community. We have full disabled access including an easy access changing room and poolside hoist and easy access steps.
